Question

I'm looking to get an ECU fitted to replace the original, and have heard good reports about Motec, Apex-i and Link.
Motec about 2k, Apex & Link about 1.2k. In my simlpe knowledge of cars there doesn't seem to be much difference in them all - as all I want to do is drive it and not worry about all the horror stories about 'blown' engined and turbos etc.

Any advice from those with experience or knowledge will be gratefully recieved.
The car's an MY00, UK spec, decat system & ITG filter.
Cheers

Blue,

Please bear in mind that the most important factor is the person doing the mapping.

I could have the best food processor in the country but it doesn't mean I can cook like a Michelin Star chef

Look for the person/company to do the mapping first and worry about the hardware used afterwards. The brand of ECU is just a means to an end.

Looking through the messages on Scoobynet should give you a fair idea where you should be looking.

If you look at a Possum link ex New Zealand they come with a basic map, which will make it a lot easier having a starting point. They connected into your existing wiring loom.
