Hi,
a technical question for all you clever engine doods. If i put a de-cat stainless 3" exhaust on my 2001 wrx do i have to get anything else done or will the car run ok and how safe is it for the engine.???
Would i need to have the ecu re mapped or will it be ok.

You could do with getting a box of tricks to stop you getting a PO042 error code (low cat efficiency) check engine light error code. You are removing the CATS so the ECU thinks they are fooked and so puts up the warning light on the dash.

It doesn't affect preformance but may mask another more serious problem. You can get these from most places ( www.scoobysport.co.uk )

I thought that the new age cars would run lean with full decats without re-map?

Running a 03 WRX with APS sports-cat system. No CEL and loadsa power & torque
So much so it's not worth a remap!
