Fitting of Lamco boost gauge

Hi to all,
I have A MY00 Euro spec turbo impreza and I've bought myself a Lamco boost gauge and originally had decided to get it fitted at the dealer. After reading the fitting instructions that came with the gauge I may give it a go myself. However there is one or two things I need to ask.
In the instructions it says to cut the fuel pressure regulator hose 50ml from the manifold and then to fit the supplied pipe to the regulator pipe with the 3 way connector which has a restrictor in it. I have already used that regulator pipe, to connect my Electonic boost controller there.
The instructions then say on a MY99/00 You instead can connect the pipe to the preinstalled pipe as shown below. The diagram appears to show the place to connect to is the short rubber plug on the manifold which is next to the hose that goes to the dump valve. This is where I'm confused. If that is the case, I take it I dont need the 3 way connector with the restrictor in it.
Am I right in this? Shouldn't that restrictor be needed to stop the boost gauge from fluctuating? If so, where do I fit it?

Nope if you use the other connector you dont need the t piece or the restrictor ! i used to have one fitted to my car and thats where i put it ! Only thing to be careful of fitting it yourself is the steering column bolts ! just be extra careful and make sure you have a torque wrench handy !!!!! pther than that fitting is fairly easy !

I got it from Cheam Motors for 160.01 GBP including VAT and delivery to Scotland to my friends place and then he brought it here to me, as he is now here on holidays, along with my Bel Euro 550 radar detector which he ordered for me with the bbs group buy.

It's an easy job!!
Just connect the pipe to the outlet on the inlet manfold. That's it, no t-piece, no pipe cutting, just unplug the blank and plug in the boost gauge pipework!!
Other than the illumination. I took the feed from the rear fog light switch.

I'll be careful with the steering bolts adding the supplied m8 by 80 bolt for support, so the steering shaft assembly stays in place (ie the boot of the shaft base does not get removed)

This guage is an excellent piece of kit but as mentioned before the only real problem is when letting down the steering be careful not to let it go too far or the bulk head grommet can be a right pain

Sorry WREXY - only just seen this thread. I fiited my own Lamco gauge as well. A couple of points:
When you attach the hose, use a number of small plastic 'zippy' ties at the base of the hose and either side of the metal pipe inside the hose. This was recommended to me by Steve Lawson, who has fitted a number of these and knows what he is talking about - it will ensure a tight fit and prevent any leakage (hence giving you a less accurate reading).
It is possible to fit the gauge without lowering the steering column - it's not easy, but you can just about reach inside the housing using a rachet driver with a universal joint attached (I know because I did it!!).
