I've just bought a 57i for my car and having spent the last hour trying to fit it, found that the bolt holes on the MAS to filter adapter do not line up with the holes on the MAS sensor.

I know that I've got the correct filter, the part number is 57-0247 and that's the correct one for my UK MY97 car. I don't understand, do I take it back? Do I drill the correct holes in the adapter?

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had the same problem on my uk my97. i got mine to fit with a little gental perswaysion, if you know what i mean! i just used a punch(metal spike) with a hammer and just tapped them through. it sound harsh but i worked, i`ve had the filter for about a year and no probs what so ever. dispitet the bad fiting its still a good kit, i`ve had some crap in the past ie not all the parts supplyed.
hope this was some help, mike.

I can sympathise with your situation. I was supplied with a MY97 onwards 57i kit to fit a MY95. (See my post below asking for a picture of what the correct layout will look like) The adapter did fit properly onto my air flow meter though, shame I would need to run the car without a drivers side wing to get the rest of the kit to fit.

OK, 1 hammer, 1 drill and a lot of bodging and I've managed to get the thing on. Thanks for the help, I didn't really want to send it back for another one and wait even longer.

Now it's finally on it's wicked the noise is terrific! The misses hasn't heard it yet but she's had the standard 'it improves fuel econony' line to prepare her.
