I know that there has been a lot of debate in the past about decatted systems, induction kits and detonation on 99/00's.

So I thought I would share what I found out today at Powerstation when my car went on the rolling road for the first time since adding the 57i.

Slight pinking/detting at the very top end. Not enought to cause concern though, as it probably doesn't do it on the road (I've certainly never heard it), they thought it might have been the heat.

I am running on SUL plus octane though - seems a intercooler spray might help, so I suppose something to think about.

Good news is that the bhp is slightly better, at 245, with 228lb/ft - boost is as high as I would want to go at the moment at just under 0.9bar.

Roll on the cold weather in October for the shootout!

Cool, cheers Matt, that's good to know. I'll stick with SUL!

Well, I do shift at around 6k max so hopefully won't have a problem. Saying "hopefully" isn't good enough though, so I think I'll invest in a knocklink just to be sure.

Cheers again Matt.

Haw much will one of those cost then? I take it they only keep an eye on the knocking, and nothing else? - all of these different toys are a bit confusing!!

Hi Matt & Nick
Have a look at :www.mrtrally.com.au/shop/images/products/MUSSE008.jpg .I don't know if it is the same product, but $218.38 Australian dollars, plus the delivery cost, is cheaper, do you think?
Regards Jim

If saving the last penny is the name of the game, send an email to Possum Bourne...they're nice to deal with.

I would definately wait for Mike T's new stuff...he's got a knock and a lambdamodule on the way...they look pretty nifty.

You could buy my old boxes when I get the new ones from Tuckwood...

Hmm, about 80 quid. Plus delivery. Plus taxes.

Matt, shall I ask MRT for a quote for two delivered to UK? Anyone else?

Nick.

Nick...speak to Don @ Possum Bourne Motorsport, you'll probably save even more shopping from them.

Again...I'd wait for Tuckwoods new project...trust me. The Lambda/knocklink modules are huge and not very practical to place in a position where they actually can be seen and do any good.

We ordered stuff from PBM to 7oaks...3 days delivery with DHL...no taxes either.

If we'd been in Sweden it'd taken 3 weeks, and had abt 125% of taxes and ****e on it.

I think in EU you can get back the
taxes if you buy out of Europe. Am I wrong?

You can expand the cables on the leds, and put them as you prefer. But same to you, I'd wait for Tuckwood's new project...

(The "N3 Bigend thread", will sells all the knocklink sensors !!!)

I can use a soldering iron, so would be happy to do it myself. Still, I 'll mail Tuckshop anyhow to see if he has a rough ETA for his goodies.

Nick.
