Probably the best £200 you will spend on any car! I have just fitted a Scoobysport downpipe to my Sti3 and boy what a difference. The car is much more responsive and there is a more noticeable exhaust note.So don't just think about doing it DO IT you will not regret it.

Question

Differences between a Scorpion DP and a Scoobysport DP (apart from the yawning price gap) please?

Personally I went for a twin dump design (like the scoobymania or bpm systems)

more expensive though, worth it?I think so!

I'm in the market for a downpipe. SS gets good reviews, but how does it compare with the others and the twin dump varieties - apart from being a bit more expensive. All claim superiority, but are they all much of a muchness?

I had a word with the maker of the downpipe and he's OK. They will make virtually anything for any car. I have had centre pipe for MY98 and before that a Cat back stainless for £300 for an Astra mk4 sri.
Good lads sort to sort out all your exhaust problems.

They are in Macclesfield.
One bad thing is that they're just in the middle of a two week break.

Would a Soobysport system change the downpipe anyway - or is it extra?

Would flames come out??

Question

excuse my ignorance (newbie)but im right in thinking that scoobies have 2 cats and that the ppp removes the centre one. the down-pipe then removes the first (correct so far??) leaving the car cat-less and free flowing. will it fail its MOT in this state and how much noisier does the down-pipe make it?
cheers

A Subaru ECU is not programmable, the std ECU can supply enough fuel to cope with the better breathing of a catless system but Super unleaded is a very good idea (I use SUL and octane booster).

Removing the catalysts from your car means it would fail an MOT, you could replace one or both of the catalysts come MOT time (several people have scrapped through the emissions test on just the center section), the car should have no problems passing on the front cat.
Addition of a catless downpipe make it a little louder it depends on the system.
