Question

Help, my mate has just sold his M3 and bought a rather nice p-reg Subaru Wagon.

Dealer advised that I should drive it, as I have a MY01. My mate didn't drive it himself before he paid for it. As the previous owner was in the car, I didn't give it some!!

Problem is, when in fourth or top gear if you floor it, it appears to miss fire or hesitate.

Anyone know what this could be ? I feel terrible about not spotting this!!

Please help. Cheers Phill C

i had a similar problem with my MY94 WRX. Does it only happen in 4th and 5th?

I checked everything, ECU fault codes, changed the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, cleaned the MAF sensor and it still did it.

It ended up being one of the coil packs. When I took the rubber seal off the end of one, the rubber underneath just shattered.
I wound loads of insulating tape around it and put the seal back on. Works fine

Its worth checking the coil packs first.
Hope this helps
