Right then, I'm hoping people can help, the car is a 97 WRX (280ps) saloon and has a few bits and bobs fitted to it that I want to know a bout.

First of all it has Zerosports - ECU, downpipe (with cat, but freeflow I’m told), induction kit and suspension setup (the dampers I removed due to damage).
I think the turbo has been changed but dont know how I can tell. What am I looking for? What marks etc?

The exhaust has a standard centre section and rear box.

I have always run the car on Optimax and Millers and have had no problems to date. I am going to invest in a knocklink this week.

So what I want to know is this:

Is the boost at 1.2bar about right?
Can this ECU be remapped for UK fuel? And by who?
Does it still use the MAF sensor? This is still connected.
What power will it be running?
Why has it got a white plug on the loom near the ECU that isn’t connected but has green blanking plugs in it?
I think a boost controller was connected, but when I got it some muppet had piped the turbo output directly to the wastegate ie 0.5 bar boost. Whats the point if the ECU has been mapped?

Any advice or info would be good. I know there are alot of questions but its doing my head in not knowing!!!!!

IMHO I'd be looking for a remap on UK fuel. The aftermarket JDM stuff is often pretty aggressive in its settings, so the propensity for things to go wrong is high IMHO.

Some people will get lucky and have no issues, but you never know...

Just my 5p worth (and yes, Zero is one of the more aggressive tuners, along with Mine's).

Hope all goes well
