That depends on how much boost, and what turbo you're running mate. 
Or rather, how much you want the engine to produce.
Sub 300 hp, IMHO not a neccessity, but nevertheless recommended.

I'm getting Gruppe-S headers fitted before I get my link installed, so I reckon I can leave the fuel pump upgrade until I want > 300 BHP
