I've got and HKS ssqv and the flange part (above), but not the actual fitting kit. and wanted to see what people have done to fit these to my MY 95 with a later Straight TMIC.
As I can't get hold of a fitting kit seperatly I plan to weld the flange to a section of tube and get some silicon hose to connect it all up. Can I use any diameter of Tube and hose to fit it or does it need to be a certain size for the pressures invovled?

Shouldn't cause a problem pipe diameter as long as similar to standard / new DV input etc..
Obviously if you fit too small a diameter pipe then it will restrict air flow.

Are you not restricted by the size of the pipe coming out of the intercooler pipework?
I think I have an inch diameter pipe connected to my Forge dump valve on the fmic pipe work that I did myself.

yeah I think it is a 1 inch pipe fron the engine, but the flange diameter where it would weld on to the pipe is more than an inch so I need a cone type peice of tube from the 1 inch upto the size of the flange. I was just worrried if it was too long, Wide, big, short, fat or thin ect It would bugger up the way it all works.
IIRC the pipe coming off the 97+ intercoolers is circa 32mm. You could have done the 'custom' fitting route a bit easier using a different adaptor. But if you are intent on welding a pipe on the HKS flange you have, you can easily get Samco reduers if need be in straight, 45 and 90 degree from Rally Design, 32mm one end and whatever mm the end that will fit the custom welded pipework.

James I'm all up for a different adapter. What did you have in mind for the differnet adapter? the flange came with the "universal fitting kit" (the joys of ebay
) which was a 2" diameter pipe about 10cm long with the flange welded onto it. I cut the flange off thinking I'd need a smaller pipe.

Evo adaptor/fitting would have been a good one to go for if you couldn't get you're car specific kit cheap enough (would have been easily adaptable for the 97+ intercooler). There are other car specific kits that are the same as Evo adaptor and cheaper too.
I would have sorted you an adaptor, but I've welded all mine onto RS turbo and Cosworth tee pieces. I'll have a look what I've got, I'll mail you if I have anything more convinient for you to use than what you have, but I'm pretty sure I haven't got anything.
If you need any help with fiting/adaptor sourcing/pipework sourcing, just drop me an email.
