Thumbs up

I'm Having an equal length header fitted to MY99 Impreza on Friday at Powerstation. They say it will increase the torque by 25lb? Is this true and will it sound OK with my decat exhaust and Prodrive silencer?

Thanks

A friend of mine had one fitted to his STI 1 and although it made the car slightly better top end it didn't add anymore BHP or Torque, maybe just his car though.

An almost waste of several £££'s so he recons.

In theory, it should make a difference, as the standard manifold/header arrangement is sub-optimal in as far as gas dynamics is concerned (latest STI type C had this as standard IIRC). You will loose the trademark Scooby 'burble' though.

performance depends on lots of things, the size of the primaries has a big impact on how a set of ELH affect torque and power delivery. They all differ, smaller primaries give more low end torque but limit power, larger primaries do the oposite.

A remap is required to get the best, spool suffers a little otherwise (although maybe PS optimised diameter with no remap in mind?).

What are primaries/secondaries in terms of ELH ?

Is this something to do with 4-1 and 4-2-1 ?

If I want better low end torque, what should I go for ?
The P.E. maxim clones ?

Thanks for your comments

IMHO the only way to know if it has done anything in terms of increased power/torque will be to have them RR the car before and after.....

On the dino at Powerstation the car is pushing out 239lb/ft torque and 253BHP. Once the header is fitted the car will be retested.

I ve got a set of these on my bugeye love them ( apart from the new resonance at 3k but im sure this is because of my firestorm)

I would say I got 20 + lbs extra but I did have a ecu tec and fuel pump fitted at the same time to take full advantage

think you will feel the boost come on and off far more I like it but some don't

Unhappy

Had the header fitted friday. Total waste of money. Torgue down by 10lb/ft, BHP down by 3bhp, slower pick up and sounds like a Ford Cortina.

Angry

Baffled me with Bull****.

They also replaced the centre section exhaust with a silencer because they had run out of straight through pipes. Do you think this would be the problem?
