Question

If only

Actually I've just been quoted an insurance increase of £18.90 for using a SS decat mid-section on a UK MY99.
Does this sound reasonable to you guys ?
No smart remarks Hanslow

Cheers
Pete

I told my insurance co. about my ss back box and 17" alloys, they loaded £26 extra for those bits...BUT on the insurance certificate it states under mods, "Alloys and Modified Exhaust"...interesting as does that mean I can change the centre and front dp and still be covered?? , well it all falls under modified exhaust don't it...hummmmm.... I wonder...

I had a S/S backbox fitted when I took out my insurance, they loaded the premium, I then fitted a S/S D/P, and rang them to let them know, and much to my surprise they said that it didn't matter cos they had already loaded for the exhaust change. .

Cool

When I rang privilege just before I got my SS back box, they told me there would be no extra charge at all

Sweet.

I'm with Catterall - no increase for back box or 17 inch wheels

I paid an extra £59 for SS downpipe, backbox, prodrive quickshift, and Unichip. This is with AXA.

Ron,

hows your car sound with the dp changed?? is it mega loud???
also I was talking to a guy today who had no cats on his scoob, he reckons he's got a twin cat mid section that he pops on for his mot, cool idea.. anyone know if these can be bought or is it a question of keeping the 2 cats and welding them in..

I'ld prefer rather keep the original bits intact though as it'll be easier to sell standard...

Cheerz

John

Hmmmm...guess my mods could be catching up with me then....
BellDirect did not increase premium for SS backbox, ITG, ALK, or bumpsteer mod.
They would not consider PPP or 17"s though

Dave, sounds like I should try AXA come renewal time
Steve, shut it

Quized my insurer's technical guy.....
It turns out this increase is really to cover administration costs for documenting change etc....
As a 'gesture of goodwill' they will not charge me the extra £18.90 now.
