Holed my sump yesterday off a humpback bridge (read jump). Don't worry folks, not in the Scoob but my Passat TDi motorway car.

Anyone had any experience with that repair putty stuff? Any tips to make sure it holds? Removing the sump to weld it would require taking the slam panel, bumper etc off and I can't be doing with that.

Surely it's better to fix it properly rather than risk losing all the oil from the engine?
