It'll show if your engine is pinking and thats about it. I don't have one personally but I keep getting b*llocked by some of my friends on this site for not having one. Truthfully you should get one but I'm a poor student you see.

you may wekk have knock indication on the secs monitor but it isnt an in your face warning like the knocklink.

I would very seriously recommend getting one purely for peace of mind.

The SECS just shows you if the ECU has picked up knock and has retarded the ignition. Seeing as the standard knock sensor doesn't always detect pinking, this alone doesn't tell you a lot, and it doesn't give you a real-time warning that your engine is knocking.

Assuming the mapper applying the TeK3 knows his stuff, your car shouldn't knock under normal circumstances. However, there are still plenty of abnormal circumstances where it might do so, such as, for example, a bad tank of fuel, a trackday, or unusually hot weather.

A KnockLink gives you a highly visible, realtime, easy to notice warning that your engine is running outside safe parameters. Thus, it's highly recommended that you fit one.
