Question

Anybody have step by step instructions for fitting a downpipe?

I understand the intercooler has to come out. Is it worth replacing the hoses with Samco jobbies at the same time?

James.

I had mine done at Scoobysport. After seeing the ammount of time it took, using proper tools and on a high ramp I am glad I didn't attempt it myself. It will be extremely difficult to do without getting the car in the air. Do the back box and mid section yourself but pay for the d/p. Worth it though.

James,

I got Roger Clarke Motorsport to fit my new exhaust system (inc Downpipe) and it was quite a job.

They had to cut a bolt off and you are right, the intercooler did need to come off as did all of the turbo's heat shielding. It took them about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to fit the complete system.

ta,
Matt

Pete at Scoobysport took about 45 minutes to do mine - but he had no problems. If your car is quite new/low mileage there should be no problems with welded nuts etc.

Only replace the hoses if you are upping boost. The standard ones are crap, but good enough to handle exaust and breathing mods.
