DOWNPIPE RESTRICTOR??????
#1
I have an STI8PPP and want it to sound how it should do (better)
and have found an after burner downpipe for sale that i would like to fit.
The problem is the buyer says that I will need a "small brass restrictor/bung" thing to prevent overboost. This item is apparently £3-£4 pound from scoobysport but they are not open until monday, by which time the downpipe will probobly be sold!
Can anyone confirm that with this "Brass thing" the downpipe will be ok. I don't really fancy a re-map as I've already paid £1800 for my PPP.
THANKYOU

As far as I can remember the sti 7/8 ppp comes with a performance downpipe which flows as well as a straight through pipe,so the brass restrictor would have been sorted by ppp.I personally would leave your downpipe alone and get the sound you want by replacing the back box

The back box is what controls the sound of your exhaust,a different one could make huge difference, the down pipe wont make much difference to sound,it is mainly replaced to increase flow and reduce back pressure but the one you have with PPP is already very good, will keep your warrenty and pass emission tests, its up to you,but I think you will find if you replace that downpipe, sti owners will bite your arm off for that PPP one.
