Guys,

Is the bottom ball joint on a GTB the same as on a uk Legacy?
Need to know, or I'll have to take it off before going to say Pages to get a new one.
Found out whilst having car MOT'd, but ne's a mate, so let it go!!
Also....car seems to be running a little rich (Fuel) what could be the problem there?
Any advice greatly accepted.

Jon.

Mark,

I was thinking of trying IRS, could also do with a diff driveshaft oil seal, pulley cover, turbo heat sheild etc etc.

Don't know anything about fault codes, but will have a look at some threads here for info of how to get them.

I would be fairly sure that they are the same. In fact, I think that all Subaru legacy/impreza models are the same whether its the aluminium arm, or pressed steel.
The alloy arm as a large tapered sleeve over the balljoint, but the balljoint is the same.

At long last I've got the fault codes.....it's great this time off at Christmas, I get to see the car in daylight!!!

23 = Air flow sensor - open or short
66 = Sequential turbo system - no rise in pressure or pressure excessive (Over Boost)

Must admit, sometimes car appears to speed up suddenly when on 1st turbo driving normally??

Does this mean I need a new air flow sensor (MAF)? or could it be something to do with the lamba sensor?

I have'nt a clue about fault code 66 - any ideas, or will sorting one problem cure the other?

Advice greatly appreciated.

Jon..........P.S....Happy New Year.

Jon,

Oh dear, dreaded code 66.

If your not on 'legacyb4', (as above), get on it and start searching/posting.

There's a 101 cures.

As for the airflow, does the engine hunt at idle? Does it stall when unplugged?

If yes to the first one, new sensor req.
If it doesn't stall when unplugged, new sensor req.

It maybe worth clearing the codes, going for a short run (boost both Ts), then re read the codes.

HTH

Cheers Mark, I'll take a look at the B4 site and try what you suggest - just my luck, the dreaded code 66.
