Okay I`ve had my02 wrx scooby for 6 months and all is fine. But my brother is in the process of blowing £4.5k on an audi tt 225 engine and planting it into his Golf Ralye (import) So now I`m thinking mmm what can i do to mine. Of course the easiest answer would be to prdrive it but I have not got that money as I`ve just bought a second house. Also I`m very green on what can be done to help. My wife likes the sound of a prodrive exhaust so can I go for a backbox and will this give me any extra umph. Also what about a chip? Any ideas without going to mad. I am allowed a few upgrades as long as i promise her indoors that I will put a proper spoiler on. Which isnt too bad is it.
Suggestions please.

Its a decat downpipe first, if you choose to leave the centre cat in (if fitted) it will still pass emmisions when comes mot time, but the centre cat is better removed. Then maybe replace the up pipe with a decat version. these mods dont make a massive differance in peak power but make the turbo spool up quicker and make the power more usable and it will sound fantastic. however they are both difficult/time consuming to fit. stick to the exhaust first. then maybe a filter like ITG or K & N. get it on a rolling road and maybe have the ecu remaped. this will also clear any problems with engine fault light coming on when removing cats from the 02 model. If you not wanting a ecu remap then a plug in fix for the o2 sensor is available from Scoobysport for £60.

Talking

Panel filter - £50'ish
Backbox - £320'ish
Centre - £220'ish
Downpipe - £220'ish
Up pipe - £140'ish
ECUTEK remap - £750'ish

All plus fitting of course
This I would estimate will give you about 260/270bhp ('ish )

Rear spoiler anything from £300 up + paint and fitting.
