You can but you won't get much more from it as the duty cycle in the ScoobyECU is about as good as it can get i.e the duty % is set nice an high at low revs to improve the spool up.

You may be able to run a little more boost depending on how close you are currently to the fuel-cut. Although a Knocklink is a must if you want to try and run more boost.

cheers, do you know if the scooby ecu raises the fuel cut, and also if i will still be able to use the boost controller set low(say 0.5 Bar) for town driving/increased fuel economy?

Thanks.

Gareth.

Yes you can use an EBC with scoobyecu.

Yes you can set the boost low.

Yes you can blow your engine if you are not careful.

Yes the scoobyecu raises the fuel cut, to 17.2psi.

Cheers pavlo, do you know when the standard fuel cut is? Cheers for the advice on blowing up! Comforting to say the least!
Also do you know if any soldering is necessary to install the scooby ecu to a jap 95 WRX wagon?

Cheers,
Gareth.

Exactly as paul says.. which is why I only recommend dawes to increase spool up.. I disagree that duty is as good as it can get, it depends on the individual car.. Dumpvalves and tired wastegates cause my hours of problems.. and fun test drives:

As paul says you can blow your engine.. but we are quite happy to assist in getting the boost to those levels assuming you dont expect us to cry with you...

Having said that 345bhp and 342lbft from a std td05 and std ecu..

Caution!

WRX wagon has small turbo, and will not work properly with standard scoobyecu map.

Standard ScoobyECU in a Wagon will give fuel-cut problems due to the quicker spooling TD04.

However, if you are using the AVC you should be able to overcome this by tuning the duty cycle/boost control yourself and hence overriding the scoobyECU duty cycle map.

I'm running a ScoobyECU in my WRX Wagon (which is an auto, too) without any problems. Have been doing so for about 6 months as well.

What I believe Scott and Pavlo are saying is that a standard Scoobyecu Map will cause Overboost(Fuel Cut) as the solenoid duty cycle is set up for use with the Bigger TD05 turbo(slower spool). The WRX wagon you have has the TD04 turbo which is smaller and therefore with the standard Scoobyecu Map will hit overboost as it spools much earlier and quicker than the TD05. You will need a map which has a different solenoid duty map to overcome or use a standalone boost controller. The fuelling may also need to be tweaked.

I done a wagon map a while back, using a standard V9 Wagon base map, then overlayed my standard 15.5psi peformance maps. The only map I ended up altering for the wagon was the boost control/duty cycle map.

This was done by posting various mapped chips for the test vehicle (several attempts) and run using AFR and Knocklnk indicators. All looked fine and dandy.

However, some wagons did have a tendancy to go into limp home mode if a Wagon base map was not used. But not all.......

David did mine, and Scott has also looked at the map I have.

It runs on a V5 ECU.

If you have a 2nd hand ScoobyECU then you could send it to me and I'll reblow the chip with a Wagon 15.5psi map if required.

For a small fee of course !!!

Mail me as per profile......

Erm the scoobyecu website belongs to me and there is certainly no phone number on there, try emailing the 'number' instead.

David, the phone number was from scooby net shop, sorry, my mistake.

Scott, i do not have a scooby Ecu at all at the moment, i am not concerned with the boost map , due to running an EBC. Are you able to provide a scooby ECU with suitable fuel/ignition maps for my car? I have a knocklink and lambda link so problems will be picked up early, thankfully!!

Cheers, Gareth.
