Ive recently traded my runworthy justy in for a r plate impreza 2.0 GL 5DR AUTO in Dark Jungle Green, I was so excited when i picked my impreza from the showroom i nearly wet myself only to be devestated when i started josephine (the impreza) up it smelt like scrambled eggs coming from the exhaust area i thought it may be the new chrome tail pipe i bought from charlie browns but was told other wise by wing and a prayer motors ltd, Any help guys........

Sounds like it the Catalytic Converter (CAT). They usually smell when the car is warming up. Does the smell go once it's been driven around for a while?

it does sometimes but when i do an eggy trump the smell comes back

was told that if the car (in fact any car) gives off a smell like rotten eggs the catalytic converter needs replacing cos its knackered!

lol at 3minute/3mile warranty-d ont kno if they are covered by warranty u may have to ask others about that, but if u look in the for sale section ppl are always sellin secondhand exhausts- in fact this mayb the perfect excuse to upgrade to a full decat- get rid off the eggy smell once and for all!!

i am fairly new to the scooby world, just see wat the more experienced scoobynetters recommend! (full decat may void warranty though)
