Can I specify which oil I want when I go to the dealer??
MY97 UK Subaru Proven Warranty.....

I'm given the choice of Mobil fully synthetic 5w/40 or some other brand. I always go for the Mobil.

As long as it's approved, you can't go wrong.

Question

There seems to be so much discussion about oil and warranties! Are you telling me that if you claim under warranty that the dealer is going to take a sample of you oil and have it chemically analysed for make and grade????
I have supplied my own oil at service and other than calling me a tight git the service manager had no problem with it.
