Question

Whats the best way to delimit my 95 WRX? The speedo has been recalibrated, but still the limiter cuts in at 112mph. (On axle stands in my garage, an exercise undertaken for research reasons in case the Government abolishes the 70 limit - best to be prepared!)
It's cable speedo so a geary type thing is the answer. Anyone got a 2nd hand one?

Andy,

I bought a gearing ratio unit from C+K Motors in Manchester "www.subaru-manchester.co.uk"

All you have to do then is remove the speedo cable from the gearbox and fit this unit to the end of the cable and then insert back into the gearbox.
It changes the speed at which the throttle cable turns thus preventing the Limiter cutting in. It will take you 5-10 mins max, but make sure your engine is cold or you'll get burnt off the turbo.
It does work as I've tested it and the needle went up to 128mph(alledgedly).

I bought this as the speedo in my car was km/h and it converts it to mp/h by installing this unit.

hope thats helps.

If your speedo has been recalibrated using a mph oversticker or facia then get it put back to kph, then fit the 1.6:1 ratio cable gearbox as mentioned earlier.

The limiter will cut in, but only at approx 180 mph
