Question

Mike,
The standard UK WRX is now 214bhp(ish), right. There's supposed to be a 240bhp version due soon before the STi 280bhp later sometime.

A friend wants to upgrade from an MY98 to an MY01, but is left wondering if he should buy now or later...or later!!!

Will Prodrive be responsible for the 240bhp version later this year, and if so will the PPP upgrade for the current MY01 effectively make the two cars identical ???

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Squizz.

Hi folks,
My first posting!

I got a new UK WRX last week. You all seem to think they are pants! OK so its not as quick but i never drove the old one and it seems plenty fast to me! It certainly rips round the corners!

The worst thing about the car has been the dealers - im still waiting for bits ive already paid for and the car was 2 weeks late. Are they all crap or is mine the only on? JD Customer Satisfaction my a**e!!

They are trying to flog me a PPP although they dont yet have a brochure / test car to drive. Has anyone driven the new WRX and do you think the PPP would be a good idea. They cant even get a damn exhaust BB from Prodrive! Is the new car really that bad?

Another stupid question: i ordered a boost gauge from them - apart from looking cool what should i be watching it for? Im one of those "sounds like a good idea when i ordered it" people who doesnt have a clue!

Oh well la de da!

Wink

A PPP will certainly make up for the extra pounds the new 'Preza's put on!

It's 2K and it's good, but does your wallet think it's good?

James

We are still working on the Performance Package for the WRX. Details will be released in due course but expect similar results to previous but hopefully at a lower price.

There is however a WRSport rear silencer already available for the WRX. Part no is SACC2147.

Thanks Mike. I cant get any info about Prodrive products - just excuses from my dealer that the "brochure is in print" - but that was 1 month ago!

Is the WR Sport Silencer part of the PPP or will it be replaced if i get the PPP - it seems that i may as well wait till the PPP is released rather than pay twice!

Any idea roughly when the PPP will be ready (i wont tell anyone what you say!!!)

Cheers

James

The PPP will be the 240ps version

There will be a Euro homologated STi type car, probably in about 12 months time but this will not have 280ps initially.

Mike,

Any chance of mailing me details of the PPP when they come available? I know I should ask the dealer but chances are you'll know well before

Thanks.

Mike,

Any idea what kind of benefits the PPP will have for the US Spec WRX compared to the UK Spec?

Not sure at the moment, but it's part of our plan to find out!
