I think, but don't quote me, that you can't - you need to replace it every 30k like any ordinary filter.

Check with Pete at Scoobysport.

Cool

I got cleaning instructions in the box with mine. I'll try to dig them out tonight. I seem to remember it suggesting vacuuming the filter!

I had a look yesterday and the filter is very sticky and dirty. I emailed Pete to see what he suggested.

PeteC posted a couple of weeks ago along the lines of:

The ITG should not be cleaned.

It has a 50K life.

The impregnated oil is heated to 240deg C during manufacture.....

guys i have one of these panel filters and was reading the coments above so i phoned ITG today, they told me the best way to clean the filter is to wipe it with a lint free cloth or use a vacuum cleaner on it, using the nozzle to agitate the dust particles, but ONLY on the intake side, this must be done at every service.

Andy - I have found my original ITG instructions.

I quote

"you can probably 'fit and forget' your pro filter. All that is needed is to check the filter at every engine service interval to remove any large debris that may have found its way into the air box. If the filter looks visibly clogged on the coarse layer of foam the following steps may be taken. The filter can be wiped with a lint free cloth to remove any surface dust and grime and if necessary a hoover can be used to encourage any deeper dust out of the filter. By massaging the nozzle on the coarse foam of the filter you will dislodge any debris which will be then drawn up by the hoover.

Hope that helps

Thanks Doc, will give it a try, filter has been in for about 12k and seems to have a patch where it is heavily soiled, hope it don't bugger up the hoover, wife may not be best pleased.
