Hello mate,

This has been talked about before but one option which I have gone for is to remove the vents then replace them again but this time with some washers between the nuts. This allows you to keep the water protection and also allows cooler air to circulate more easily through the slits left.

Question

I just removed the two ventilation covers on the bonnet for better cooling, but I see there are some electric wires or components sitting just below the ventilation path.

I suspect that rains going through the ventilation path may be hazardous to the electronic components.

Does anyone encounter problems after removing the covers? My home area is rather humid which is similar to Britain.

I removed the drivers side cover from my WRX to allow more cold air towards the turbo area. Left the other in place to stop water going straight onto my battery and driving light relays. No problems encountered yet.
