CV Joints

Yup find a large open car park apply full lock to the Scooby and drive round in circles and see if there is a knocking sound (best to have a friend hang out of the window to listen for this)
Then drive round in the other direction and do the same.
If you feel / here a knocking sound then its probably your CV joints

I occasionally get a clicking noise from my front nearside when reversing with full lock to the right (i.e. moving the front of the car left). The car is a MY99 with only 7250 miles. Surely the CV joint shouldn't have gone yet!!

James.

Just a word of warning ! If the rubber boot on a Subaru CV joint splits the joint can fail very quickly (quicker than most) . A new CV joint from Subaru is very expensive whereas a boot is only £10 so it is a good idea to check the boots regularly for splits and cracking .
Btw always use genuine boots as I fitted 2 pattern boots within a year and both started cracking . There is now a genuine boot on and it is ok after 2 years !
