Jonathan - my MY98's on 30k now, with no probs - still sweet as a nut...

I think there have been some problems like this, but I don't know if they're confined to MY98s.

Anyone else know?

 

It was the MY97's as well. Which are late P-reg, through to R-reg.

If the car has a cubbyhole in the centre of the bash, then it's a MY98, if not, it's a MY97.

 

I also have an MY98, So far no problems with piston slap and it has done me proud of 3 hard track days. Car has now covered 47K.

 

Thanks for the replies guys. I have seen the problem quite a few times on various message boards and didn't want to buy an engine only for it to have problems soon afterwards. All I know about the car so far is that it is being broken and it is an R reg, I'll phone them up for more details.....
