Whilst playing around with fmic pipe work I ran my TD05 which has done 140k miles with no dump valve for about 2000miles and no ill effects.. seems very strong.. and as Pavlo says it should last ages..

I just cringed at the chattering noise and visualised the blades stalling all the time so as planned fitted the dump valve in to the pipework now I have finished playing with samco (for the moment).

Thumbs up

As mentioned, they do make a noise but survive it ok. I was running 1.8 bar on a td05 with no dump valve for a few thousand miles with no problems. Opinions differ but I found that it improved spool up between gears.

Andy has a good point about the spool.. I found no dump valve was better spool between gearchanges than the standard dv but that the Forge I now have fitted was as good as with no dv and no cringing noises.. lol

Just the person vulnax999 and on the subject of dump valves..
Do you know which spring colour you have in you Forge? I have a couple spare.. save you buying the complete forge tuning kit..

I am currently running a f/e TF05 with no dump valve at 1.4bar with no issues (apart from the size of my injectors).

Spool up seems far crisper and lag between changes has reduced, with some real nice chattering on full boost changes.

What is the dumpvalve and was spring?

It might not have been dumping already if spring to strong..

Easy check is to refit it and remove and block (with a bolt) the vacuum line to it and refit to test as with no vacuum line it shouldn't dump etc...
