Question

Checked my gearbox fluid level when the car was warm, checked it after about 30 mins ,and the level was about 2-3mm over the full mark , is this o.k .

Also when is it best to check the level, hot or cold, i'm also using the pro 75 silkolene oil and have heard it is the wrong type, will it be o.k to use this in my 95 wrx ra , or should i change it for the sync
thanx,
nick.

The gearbox on my MY91 Legacy was getting very notchy after 105k miles so I changed the oil to Mobil synthetic gear oil and it is now like a new box . Don't worry about it being slightly overfilled as I done the same and am at 120k miles without any problems . Check the oil level in the rear diff because if it goes low it can cause major and expensive damage .
