What do you think these should cost?

I have a PPP and was quoted £350 inc fitting for a handmade sainless steel one from a Subaru dealer (made by a local rally specialist). They also said it 'could' possibly pass its MOT with it fitted and it 'shouldn't' invalidate the warranty if they did the servicing.

Basically I want more low down torque and little / no extra noise.

Is this a good price & good deal? Is it a worthwhile mod?

jmk,

IMHO, It "will" invalidate the warranty. The local dealer is not sticking to either Prodrive or Subaru rules. If something went wrong, my opinion is that he would not tell Subaru about the d/p and would blag it for you.

Again IMHO, I think that's expensive. Ask for a breakdown of parts and labour. And a name of the supplier.

If you want to stir it up, phone Subaru UK for comment.

Cheers,
Nick.

As there is a lamda sensor on the downpipe you would most likely get an "engine check" light come on.

The MY03 shares the same exhaust system as the MY01 and MY02.

I waited for ages for a reliable sports cat downpipe and now I have found one! Still perfectly legal on the emissions front but allows for an easier flow of exhaust gases.

Still the car was remapped (ecuTek 3) to ensure that everything was maintained safely.

I wouldn't recommend decatting.

You could get grief on any warrenty claim and if the police ever realised that road side emission checks on Scoobies was an untapped cash reserve you would be getting grief there as well.

Prodrive sells a very good catted downpipe with the STI PPP, why don't ask them to buy one?
It's the same exactly with what TSL sells but they have removed the photo from their site who knows why?
On the other hand it isn't cheap and you'll need uprated fuel pump so worth the extra cost?
Ask Nick Wadeson for more.
