My 1994 prodrive imprezza won't start sometimes after a short drive. I have also found that if I undo the fuel cap there is a large hiss. I think that it maybe due to blocked fuel vent (if there is one) or a blocked fuel filter, this was replaced during my last service and that's when the problem started!

If I release the pressure and wait a few minutes it generally will start, but not always.

Any ideas to help me out.

I can hear the bubbling in the tank when I turn on the ignition too.

This problem is a common symptom of the water temp sensor failing.

The temp guage will be unaffected as it uses a different sensor.
