As above!
My g/box is on its last legs with the syncro's (1st, 2nd, 3rd and reverse!)I would appreciate some info on price for these parts or who sells them!
If i replace the 'gear cluster' does that have the syncro's?
dont laff i dont know!!!!!!
I have heard i can put a sti gear cluster in my g/box and it would be more durable than a wrx one.
Please advise!!!!!!
I got a price from Ellesmere Port clutch & gearbox centre for labour plus syncro's at £280 for labour and syncro's about £25 each
is this reasonable?!?

I would very surprised if reverse synchro is worn, there isn't one AFAIK.

Are you sure you're clutch isn't dragging?

But normally gear cluster would include synchros

Thanks mate

The gear has always crunched into reverse though so not sure if it has a syncro. The clutch is A.O.K its new! only standard though the garage i bought it off put a new 1 in F.O.C for me.
So if i bought a new gear cluster then that would include the syncro's? I got a price of £200 plus vat new for sti cluster from TEG on rallyusedparts.co.uk.
Any1 else in the know!?!

a clutch is most likely to drag when new, as that's when it take more movement to disengage.

Might be worth checking first.

I would be careful just buying a single cluster, as you should have a pair, input and output, so check with townend first.

top set of gears is the input set of gears and the bottom set is the output to the front drive shafts & rear propshaft

you'll need both sets if your going to change the ratios

reverse is the 2nd cogs in from the right and are straight cut and hence no syncros needed

might be worth bleeding the clutch and changing the oil in the box first.
