Chuckster.

Have you previously tried any other octane boosters?
I currently use Silkolene pro-boost as I can get bulk discount on a crate.
I have heard reports however that Millers is better and cheaper?
A direct comparison would be nice.
I have some Pro-boost left but I may try Millers when I'm finished.
Where do you get yours? (I'm in Hornchurch, Essex).

I hadn't tried any previously. I run original downpipe and wanted a 'cat friendly' product - Pro-boost was out.
1 bottle raises octane on 50 litres by 1.9 points - ie SUL 97 goes to 98.9 octane.
I buy from A.R.E. in Farnham, they will deliver 10 bottles for £30. Call Sarah(sales and marketing) on 01252 711777. Scoobymania also sell it, not sure about delivered cost, but about the same I think. Mike will comment I'm sure, except that I think he's on holiday - whoops!
Cheers
Chuck
PS Neil, have you registered an interest in the Essex meet? plug-plug

I'm now convinced that higher octane fuel (than 95 RON) on a standard UK car does make a difference. I used to be be sceptical until around a week ago.

I ran two tanks of SUL and noticed some inprovement. I then added a bottle of Millers Octane Plus and then reset the ECU (disconnected the battery for a few hours). The difference since then even on SUL alone is quite significant. The main difference relates to improved economy. I used to get around 230 miles on a tankful and now its closer to 280. I would also say that the performance is better - seems to be smoother and with less lag.

The ECU reset was essential to this change.

Why do you say that Pro-Boost isn't cat friendly? I was always lead to believe it was and don't remember any warning on the tin.
As for the Essex meet, I'm always up for that, but no-one seems to arrange these things. Maybe I/we should?

Pro-boost probably is cat friendly as you stated, but I hadn't used any octane booster before and I liked the Millers package. 1 full bottle giving 1.9 octane points to 50 Litres - nice and easy, no mess no fuss. Proboost IIRC was vague at best about how much u added/what benefit it gave. I recall at Powerstation once my car was detting and it was suggested I putin a can of Pro-boost to sort it out, but I was told by some guys that it would mena kissing goodbye to the cats - maybe it's an older version, I just don't know.
Cheers

Just to let you know, I checked my Pro-boost can and it says that it is CAT friendly.
Maybe there are different pro-boosts out there?
