As some may know, the MY94 WRX Wagon I have got came loaded with additional bits and bobs (HKS HiperDrager center + backbox, HKS induction kit, etc...)
I've been wondering for a while now as to wether its been chipped or not.
Is there an easy way to see if it's been chipped, where would I look, under the bonnet?
as you can guess one is rather a luddite in these matters.

You need to remove the ecu and take its cover off, if its been chipped there will be a DIL socket containing the chip in the rear left hand corner as you look at the connector. The zero ohm resistor to the right of the vertical piggy back board will have been removed or cut through as well.
Take static precautions and don't touch the board
