i've done a search but can't find any with the same problem.

my MY93 WRX is only getting 6psi boost when pulling away in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear but I get 10psi boost if doing 60MPH in 5th (sometimes) I know I should be getting 13psi+ in most gears.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Oh and my boost soilnoid is working ok

Possibly the restrictor on the exit side of your boost solenoid is bunged up with oil, therefore not fully bleeding.

To clear this you need to flush out the boost solenoid and associated piping with carb cleaner spray.

Cheers

If cleaning doesn't work, check if the boost solenoid is working properly, check also if you have any leaking air somewhere on induction side of the engine.

Next is to check waste gate if it opens correctly at 0,7bar. Check also knock sensor. Another possibility is faulty maf sensor, this could cause det and limp home mode with max boost 0,5 bar.

I think that should cover it.

1 bar is 14.5psi.

If you WRX is 92-94 then it should boost to 11.5psi
If it is 94-96 then 12.7spi

If the aerial is on the reae wing (and not the A-pillar) then it's a 12.7psi jobbie
