Cool

Mine has gone away, someone else on this BBS said his dealer had traced a fault and was going to report back here at the end of the month.

Does anyone find the shift from 1st to 2nd particulary hard when cold?

Red face

The noise I think you are referring to has been subject of much discussion.....I identified mine as the clutch release bearing, which is a pull-type.After having gone out with one of the technicians at my dealer he agreed with my diagnosis and in fact the service manager seemed to be aware of the problem.

My gear selection problems were never temp. related, just harshness as 3rd and 5th are being engaged and recently when slipping into 1st as I stop at junctions.

Mine goes in on 7th Feb for replacement box and bearing...so we shall see what hapens.

Yea.

I find it very hard to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, especially when the car is cold.

Well, mine hasnt made the noise since i changed downpipe to SS. So, forget warranty and go any buy a SS downpipe.

I am serious, so i guess it was something to do with the old downpipe/heat shield touching. I think Jay hit the nail on the head the other day in the chat room. If we ask him nicely, he might tell us...then again he might not. Certainly havent had a new thrust bearing or anything.

Come on Jay ya northern monkey...what was it u said again??

I am getting my gearbox oil changed to Silkolene tommorow at ScoobySport so i'll update here as to whether it makes an improvement to the ease of the change or not.

Well, mine has been sorted. As someone else pointed out, it was the clutch pipe vibrating against the o/s bulkhead.

Cheam Subaru say that they now do it as part of the PDI as so many cars suffer from this problem.
