Dump Valve / ECU Parameters
#1
I've got my car (MY97) going into a dealer next week for a replacement Dump Valve under Warranty. The current one is leaking. At the same time I have persuaded them to re-set the ECU with the Select Monitor so that I can do the UL - SUL fuel thang. As my car has run previously on UL only, i'm hoping for big things.
Can anyone who has had the re-set done give me any info. on their experience. Obviously when I pick the car up i've got to give it a good bootfull to get the best parameters into the ECU. Any Tips on where to drive, Motorway, Hills etc.?
Cheers
Chris
p.s. has anyone tried getting the cold start
clutch judder fixed under warranty?

Ecu Specialist
Giving it "a good bootful" will just wear the turbo out ... won't do a thing else. Just drive it using a mixed range of accellerator etc for about 25 miles to start the learning process. Booting it straight off could well make it worse if the default settings that are being used do not suit your particular car. The ecu "reset" just forces the ecu back to its default condition, it will then re-learn everything according to the fuel type without any more help. Oh you can do this yourself by disconnecting the battery for 20 mins ... and its free !!
