Hesitation when changing gear
#1
I have a non-Prodrive RB5 that seems to be not quite right when I change gears under hard acceleration.
Basically, when accelerating hard through the gears, changing up around 6000 RPM, the engine seems to drop completely off boost. When the next gear is home and the throttle reapplied (even with the clutch fully out), the resulting lurch as the turbo spools back up is 'kin fierce and can't be doing the driveline any good at all.
I don't think I'm being particularly slow with the gear changes and when taking things easier the lurching does not happen. Looking at previous items posted it seems as though it may be the dump-valve sticking. Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas what may be happening?
Thanks
Russ

I've got something similar on my STi V. Not quite as sever as yours sounds. Basically full acceleration change gear, for a fraction of a second feels like it's only partially boosting, then goes again.
If I feed the clutch in it goes (which can't do it much good)
I reckon (hope) it's due to jerky throttle/clutch.
