Anyone know what the transmission code on the VIN plate refers to?

There seems to be codings to two sets of numbers from other websites I've seen - does one half refer to gear ratios and the other for the diff ratios?

Mine has:
TY753VB1AA

Ive seen TY752 and TY754 as the first 5 digits plus quite a few combinations of the last 5 digits.

All I know about my car is that it has UK Impreza turbo ratios but with 4.44 diffs.
I'm looking at changing to another set of ratios to give 4th a bit more urge and lower the top speed.
