Ive heard it mentioned a lot on the bbs about having to remap the ECU if u run a full de-cat system. How does this affect MY98 STI's as the ECU's are not remappable? Does this mean the ECU has to be changed to a link for example, seems a bit drastic to me as i know a few people with STi's that just had the de-cat done and that was it,they havent reported any problems. What do you think?

Fitting a knocklink will let you know whats happening, and a boost gauge. Boost spikes might be a problem, which can be sorted out by drilling out the restrictor. Use octane booster too.
