exhaust options
#1
Hi
Just bought my first scooby a couple of months ago : a classic 2000MY wagon and loving it. But I,m going to upgrade the exhaust system and want to know the best options. I want maximum horses but not too much noise. Thinking of going for H&S d/pipe with scoobysport centre & back box. Is this the best option or should i go for the s/sport whole system? Also if i fit the d/pipe before the rest do i need to let my insusance co. know?
Any advice would be great

Yep, you should let the insurance co know of any such mods.
I'm running H&S dp hooked up to Prodrive centre and BB. A little louder than the std dp, but imho just enough to allow you to appreciate the new sound without it pissing off everyone else, if you know what I mean.
Don't know if there's much difference between H&S and SS. Both the SS (Janspeed) and H&S will be excellent quality, and performance wise there won't be much in it.
Edited to say...welcome to SN
If I were you I'd prob see if there's any discount for buying the whole system from SS. This might help you make up your mind.

HKS have just brought out a "super silent" version of their Hyper muffler exhaust. I haven't seen (heard) an Impreza one, but I have fitted a skyline one and it was slightly quieter than a normal one, but still seemed to flow the gases fine.

I just fitted H+S downpipe to HKS superdrager and it is brilliant!!
Loud but I love it. Remember wagons are noiser in the cabin so exhaust often sounds louder and ma drone on motorways.

Cheers for the advice. Too many options now!!! I always thought the HKS s/drager was a very noisy system, is that the case?
And if i buy the goodies direct does anyone know a reliable scooby garage in West London willing to fit it properly?

Thanks Slowboy.
2 minutes away from me in Ealing! Saves me a trip out to Essex or even further. What do you think the damage would be for fitting a downpipe? Any chance you own a met. red wagon?

Nice One. I'll be on the phone with lots of obvious questions. Would'nt mind meeting up to see and hear your exh/system before i choose what to go for?
