ecu reset weird one

hi,
not sure how this has happened (really not a technical person) but i thought i would change fuel to optimax and reset the ecu to get rid of any boost retards set in the ecu thro poor fuel being used in the past(not sure if this is right,i just read it from a book!)
car was reading just under 15 psi max before the reset and now it reads 14 psi but seems to drive better?! been driving it for a couple of months now and can't get back to 15 psi, is there any reason for this or is it just on of those things?
