Please give advise I need it!!!!!!!!!!!

Tsl fitted a firestorm bacbox to my sti 8 last Saturday and it sounds brill looks good etc etc. The car has ppp on it and went like a train up to 155mph with the prodrive backbox on, now it seems to be holding back and struggling to go past 120mph.
the pipe diameter is the same only difference is the 5" tail.
1. Have I lost back pressure.
2. Got too much back pressure.

Talking complete rubbish please see graph further on its all in the mind

anybody got any thoughts would appreciate some feedback.

thanks in advance
Andy....

The firestorm Backbox would not increase back pressure due to it's tail pipe size, More likely less back pressure which may loose you some torque ...

Maybe worth a question to Tsl or Scoobysport Etc

Less back pressure will help to increase torque on a turbo-charged engine. Less back pressure will reduce torque on a naturally aspirated engine.

Edited to add:

There is more to meffler design than the size of the pipe running through it.

First you need to reset the ECU. Disconnect battery and leave it for a couple of hours then let it relearn the new exhaust. You may find that the mid range has gone replaced with more top end power.

Exactly same thing happened to me when i put my scoobysport tail on. Peak boost fell and the midrange power dissapeared.I believe this was caused because the car hit the boost cut after fitting the new pipe as the boost control characteristics had changed and the ecu applied the learned settings.

I didnt persevere as with the new resonated centre the Scoobysport was quieter anyway and i wanted the mid range back. Refitted Prodrive pipe.
Yes I have MY99 with PPP.

Thanks for the advise Beastie,
took it to Well Lane Turbo Centre yesterday afternoon they reset the ecu and did a few other checks lamda, boost pressure fueling error codes etc etc.
After all this they did the rolling road power run and it did 326 bhp. Well chuffed!!!!!!!!!!
