Am asking the question for a mate who is thinking of buying an STI7 or STI8. He's been used to over 350bhp with his Cossie, so what is involved getting 340bhp from one of the above?

By all accounts its fairly easy Lynne. Full decat, maybe induction and a very good remap, should see 330 easy.

Mines MY98... V4 Full decat no induction kit.. its jap spec and knocking on the doors of 300bhp...

So as said by P20 shouldn't be hard but a very good remap would be needed

I have an STI8 and I enquired a few months ago to Scoobtsport, they recon'd 340bhp was easily obtainable with minor risk to the engine. The price of £1400 included Ecutek re-map, full de-cat exhaust, uprated fuel pump (I think).
Boost was increased to 1.4bar at 3200rpm.
Trouble was all warranty cover would be shot to pieces, and with a new car that's quite a risk. Probably why most people go for the 300bhp "warranty friendly" PPP
