I think my clutch has started to slip last nite. If accelerating from say 2500x in 4th, up hill etc, it will climb normally to about 3000 then zip up to 4000 with no noticeable acceleration gain then drop back to 3500 and climb normally.

It will ocassionally do it in 3rd and 5th. It still bites just as hard though.

How much longer do you think it will last and how much am i looking at?

Would not leave it too long, as all the time it is slipping, its generating a lot of heat into the flywheel which can create heat cracks, thus needing a flywheel replace, let alone re facing.

had the same prob about 2 months ago. It lasted like exactly you described then after 2 weeks of normal driving slipped all the time. Got it fixed while away on holiday and he said (my good friend a mechanic) that the flywheel had been damaged a bit but nothing a skim of it wouldn't fix.
hope that helps
stuart

forgot to say clutch about 130, skim of flywheel about 20 and fitting about 4 hours at whatever a mechanic charges an hour.
