Whilst at Powerstation, the nice chaps talked about the exhaust they do.

£750 for a full system, with a big cat in the d/p - apparently same flow as a straight through, because it was so much bigger, but also the benefit of a cat when idling, MOT'ing, etc.

Has anybody got one of these? What sort was it? Is £750 a lot for a full system? What sort of power/torque gains would you expect?

(I'm after a pronounced, bassy dugga-dugga, not Blitz volume levels.)

Any help gratefully received...

£750 is a good price when there's a cat in the system.
The cat will be more restrictive than a straight-through, but that isn't necessarily a problem, depending on the power you want out of the thing. The DP is the most restrictive place to put the cat as well - unless it's very near the mid-section (it wants to be as far away from the turbo as possible for performance, and as close to it as possible for emissions ).
Also, you haven't mentioned what the diameter of anything is? With a cat, 3" would probably be beneficial, certainly at the 'engine' end - 2.5" towards the back is fine unless running 350bhp+ (or thereabouts .
The cat also acts as a silencer - it'll probably reduce noise level by around 3db (a resonator reduces by around 1.5 as a comparison).

Is that the full price of the system? If it's the same one as the website from Milltek, then it's 750 +VAT +Fitting +RR remap if you want to make the best of it. So after all that your just over the 1K mark.

This then starts to look very expensive in comparisson with something else you could have (Power Engineering do a Sports Cat with 10%-15% loss), but for that money, I'd be going Decat & pay to have it back on when you want the MOT really - IMO.

Having said all that, there's only one exhuast out there for the Spec C so far, so I'll be getting one on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes on the rollers Saturday.
