I know it should be in technical but it will get more response here

Last night i started my car up and when it goes above 2000 rpm it starts to knock. Anyone any idea what it could be?

Been told could be big/little end

Or that the timing belt has slipped and has took some valves with it

cheers

This isn't really something we can help you diagnose via the BBS, you need someone to listen to it, and probably take it to bits to find out for certain what's causing it.

TSL are near you, so giving them, or another local specialist, a ring in the morning is one of the most practical options.

Does this only occur from cold?

Id so, it may simply be the timing belt tensioner has failed and needs replacing.
This can create a very mettallic knock noise when the revs are brought up, very similar sounding to a crank bearing.

It is at TSL now and they have said its the big end. So yet another rebuild and this time it will be a proper one. Unlike the last one at Auto Warranty Direct in Runcorn.
