OK, recently had my engine rebuilt (Sti 5)now run in.

Car has developed a problem which I cant trace. The car will not maintain full boost (1.1bar)and drops to 0.5 bar. If i reset the ECU I get 1.1bar until I boot it and it drops to 0.5bar. The car also feels 'wooly' when driving, not sharp (a kind of over obvious lag) but on full throttle revs ok (except the boost). It also is backfiring much more.

Any thoughts/advice appreciated

Cheers

Sounds like MAF or Lambda which might be why the last engine let go??

Did they find a cause of the engine damage??

0.5bar is safe mode.. which the ecu goes into if it sees a problem..

Could be simple overboost, could be a dodgy sensor..

As mailed, too much knock correction for too long, its probably seeing some prolonged "noise", could be det, could be just noise.
MAF would cause some detty behaviour if its output is dropping causing the ecu to read the wrong part of the timing and fuel maps.

cheers
