Question

As the title says, really. I'm ordering a MY03 WRX + PPP and wondered what the benefits of the "Subaru" quickshift would be. Or what the downsides are?

Cheers

Pro's less distance between gears.

Con's Subaru gearboxes don't like being changed fast, if not setup properly can cause shifting problems.

I had the Prodrive one fitted by main dealer, them claimed a 33% reduction in lever travel (1/3), this feels about right. I think I paid £230 ish fitted, no regrets or shift problems. Very Happy with the result.

Thumbs up

Got one on my RB5, standard I think, it does feel good.

All my mates are really surprised by how short the shift actually is. Feels sporty if nothing else I suppose.

As already siad, some gearboxes don't like being changed too quickly, if you beat the synchro's, they don't last too long, I haven't got one, and won't be fitting one either.
I stuffed a Mini b/box just by fitting a quickshift.
Ron.
