Inner CV Joint Boot, split on drivers side, advice on changing please......
#1
When under the car yesterday, i noticed that the inner cv boot on the drivers side cv joint, and the grease is splattered everywhere.
i have time to change it at the moment, so wanted to do it asap as the joint itself is ok.
what i wanted to know is... can it be changed by just releasing the shaft from the gearbox end? ie:
i was thinking of sticking the car on the axle stands, just removing the two lower strut bolts, and also the roll pin from the shaft (same procedure as if removing box) then pulling the shaft off the little gearbox stub, therefore making the inner end of the shaft free to work on.
would it be ok to change the boot this way, or will i encounter any problems?
thanks, ian
